5m Black swan
City of Perth engaged CDM to fabricate a 5m Black swan for “festival of the Swan”.
The 3D state mascot/icon is intended as a yearly 3D canvas.
The approved digital sculpt was cut on a 5 axis CNC, out of High-density polystyrene, with box steel internal supports.
Engineer certification for wind loads and overhead lift, the foam was laminated (covered) with epoxy/fibreglass.
Noongar artist Justin Martin was this years artist. (@djurandi_dreaming )
